Oct. 25, 2016---S39 84 W 073 32---Valdivia, Chile
We suppose anyone who gets this blog will be our Beta testers. I spent the last of couple of days setting the thing up, which turned out to be a little more difficult than we expected. We decided to start a blog because many friends kept asking us to send pictures and notes about our current cruise south to the Patagonia Channels.
We spent most of the winter here, with here being tied to the dock at Alwoplast. Alwoplast is a fantastic little yard, which builds primarily high tech Chris White Atlantic catamarans in a rather remote part part of the world.
This 47 footer was launched and is already heading north up the coast with final destination in BVIs.
We hauled out this morning using the yard's specially built travel lift for catamarans.
Alwoplast is about eight miles out of Valdivia, a pleasant university city with lots of young people and lots of rain. Like everywhere we've been in Chile, the people are fantastic.
These are not university students.
Will close this blog here for Beta test. Future blogs will not just be about the scenery but we will also touch on things that might interest people thinking about coming down by yacht.
